How do those in need go through a door like this?

This is a normal automatic door I walk through every day for several months. However, I’d never realized there’d be a problem with this door until yesterday…

The door I walk through every day

The button to open the door automatically (in red circle)is 10 feet away from entrance, and the security system is just right next to the door. Let’s imagine a situation. A person with a cane wants to get into the building. He matches his key fob with the reader, and then he has to walk more than 10 feet to push the button to open the door. After that, he can finally go inside.

For those in need, this kind of distance takes time. They have to get to the button before the access gets expired.

Security reader’s in the yellow circle and push button’s in the red circle

The security reader and button should both be in reachable distance, especially for those who use ambulation aids.

I’m enthusiastic about observing surroundings in my life, and then start thinking about how they can be improved to make our lives better and more convenient.
